Rizik Michael, P.E.
Principal Mechanical Engineer
Rizik's 28-year experience in design, construction and operation includes HVAC, Clean rooms and Central Utility Plants, specialized process piping and bulk distribution systems, process equipment fit-up, as well as house and specialty process piping distribution systems. He specializes in facilities engineering, planning, and design to insure critical process demands are met, while satisfying strict environmental and regulatory requirements. In addition, Rizik provides comprehensive project management services such as planning, budgeting, scheduling, engineering management and construction management. Rizik holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.

Jeff Tarter
Principal
Jeff is a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager with extensive experience in regulatory and environmental issues. He is an expert on the International Building, Fire and Mechanical Codes, and NFPA requirements relating to the storage, handling and use of hazardous materials, as well as Air Quality and wastewater pretreatment standards , and Emergency Response Requirements. As a former regulatory agent, Jeff has developed numerous regulatory guidelines, served on several hazardous material subcommittees and actively participated on various code rewrite committees. As an Engineer, Jeff has primarily been involved in the design of hazardous material transport systems, solvent dispense and waste collection systems, toxic gas installations , wastewater treatment and exhaust abatement systems. Jeff has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering.

Tim Bancroft, P.E.
Principal, Chemical Engineer
Tim has over ten years of Environmental, Hazardous Materials and related Chemical Engineering experience, including an extensive regulatory background focusing on hazardous materials handling, waste treatment and code compliance. His experience has involved conducting compliance audits, developing regulatory guidelines, and performing building occupancy and related chemical process plan reviews. He has actively participated on code rewrite and adoption committees. In addition, Tim has engineering design experience in hazardous materials and specialty gas systems, as well as planning and design for biopharmaceutical laboratories and manufacturing facilities. Tim has a B.S in Chemical Engineering and a B.S. in Chemistry.

Richard Pontius
Senior Project Manager
Richard has over twenty-five years of experience in the semiconductor, photovoltaic, biopharmaceutical, aerospace, military and manufacturing sectors. He has served as a systems and processes inspector, quality assurance and control manager in addition to holding key positions within project design, engineering, construction and executive management. Richard worked for 10 years as an independent consultant to the Semiconductor industry with an emphasis on high purity process piping systems, materials testing and selection, microcontamination research, and failure analysis projects. He has authored several widely used specifications for process chemistry distribution systems. Richard’s intimate knowledge of business startups and their operations allows him to provide our clients with timely, practical and cost effective solutions.

Alan Clary, P.E.
Engineering Manager
Al brings to IES more than thirty years of valuable experience in management, design, construction and operation of semiconductor facilities, cleanrooms, and power plants worldwide. His extensive background in the areas of design, construction and operation promotes a high standard of technical excellence and results-oriented accountability. Al’s unique combination of both hands-on engineering and management expertise allow him to play a key role in each stage of the design and build process. Al has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.

Bert Buehler, P.E.
Senior Electrical Engineer
With nearly thirty years of experience in the semiconductor, high technology and biopharmaceutical industries, Bert has developed an expertise in design and project management that encompasses all aspects of Life Safety/Toxic Gas Monitoring Systems design installation and startup. Bert’s background includes the design of normal, emergency and uninterruptable power distribution systems including fault current analysis and breaker coordination, and fire alarm design. Bert has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
